Does this sound familiar? If it doesn’t, you're a Chicago Bears fan.

Yet again, veteran halfback Jordan Howard has returned to Philadelphia.

The Eagles announced Wednesday that Howard would return on a one-year deal with financial details to come.

Let’s break this down.

Rookie head coach Nick Sirianni joins Philadephia following his time with the Indianapolis Colts, a team that only ran the ball 40% of the time in 2020.

I don’t think that’s reflective of what we’ll see from Philadelphia's offense this coming season.

People - we’re entering the Jalen Hurts era. The Birds will need to depend on their ground game, a sentence that gives Andy Reid tension headaches.

Hurts ain’t Philip Rivers, and this offense might have one of the most talented young backs in the NFL.

Starter Miles Sanders has been criminally underused throughout his Philadelphia tenure, and I have reason to believe that will change.

Adding Howard, a reliable change of pace back riding his coattails makes the ground attack a little more dangerous ~on paper.~

You dance, and then you smash.

If the Eagles plan to lean on the run as much as I predict they will, given the state of the a) quarterback room and b) receiving corps, they’re going to need bodies.

Pre-draft, behind Sanders, Philadelphia currently staffs Boston Scott, Jason Huntley, Elijah Holyfield, Adrian Killins, and Howard. Not many inspiring names (or ‘downhill runners’), so adding Howard’s a good move.

You hope the old vet, someone who lived through the Duce Staley era in Philadelphia, can bring some familiarity and leadership to a young group.

However, for today, we all collectively shrug.

It's a long offseason, and they aren’t all pearls. Welcome home, Howard.
